Shawn J. Voelker was born and raised to create. Shawn began drawing and painting at a very early age as his parents introduced him to a man named Pablo. He doodled, sketched, and painted his way through childhood and has received a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Fine Art from Northern Kentucky University. All this while still managing to never grow up and remain a kid. Shawn now works as a professional artist (Art Broke Studios) and his works are included in many private and corporate collections throughout the world (from Ludlow to Bromley).
"Creating and painting is not only my livelihood; it is my life". My work is a reflection of intense study and application of a variety of painting and drawing styles. Versatility allows me to collaborate various styles where color, composition, and (controlled) lines create unique dramatic expressions. Blah blah blah...... I love art and I love to create. The painting process allows me to escape reality and dream - Please allow me to dream with you."
Acrylic Foil Paintings are very unique with the background foil changing colors with a change in lighting and/or movement from the viewer. I have several videos on You Tube which better illustrate exactly how the foil reacts (search "Shawn Voelker" on You Tube's search engine). Normal sizing for maximum effect is 3ft x 4ft and prices range between $1250 - $5000 for a framed single subject piece. If this exceeds your budget we can reduce the size a bit to save up to 25%. These paintings are unique and are sure to be a centerpiece in any collection.
Charcoal portrait pricing is based on single subject mid torso up charcoal pencil drawings. Prices and sizes range between $175 for a 12" x 16" up to $300 for a 20" x 24" (limited to two subjects per charcoal). The complexity of the reference photo may alter pricing slightly. Picking out a reference photo should reflect the subjects personality or desired look that you would like to display and it is critical to have one that is of clear detail. The better the reference pic, the better the finished charcoal.
Paintings are created to your desired size and specifications (portraits are limited to two subjects per piece). My normal size is 3ft x 4ft and prices range between $750 - $2000 for a framed single subject piece (prices can vary depending on the subject matter). If this exceeds your budget we can reduce the size a bit to save up to 25%.
All prints are digitally printed on heavyweight archival paper using a solvent based ink system to prevent fading. A half inch white border surrounds all sides of each print making for easy framing. The $40 dollar print option is roughly 22" x 30" in size but can differ slightly based on the dimensions of the original artwork.
The canvas prints are digitally printed on heavy coated canvas, also using a solvent based ink system giving the printed image a more authentic "painterly" look. The size for a $250 canvas print is approximately 30" x 42" but can also vary slightly as it will be based on the original painting dimensions. Each printed canvas print comes stretched on wooden stretcher bars and is ready to hang.
